Trina Binaku, Grants Coordinator at KCSF, participated in the interactive online session “Civic Space Under Pressure: From Risk to Protection”, organized by SCiDEV, which explored the challenges and risks faced by activists, journalists, civil society organizations in carrying out their civic engagement, with a particular focus on the context in Albania.
The session provided a practical space for discussion on physical and digital security, addressing issues such as online harassment, compromised digital accounts and intimidation during public activities. It also explored practical ways to prevent and respond to these risks, as well as available support mechanisms in emergency situations.
During the session, Trina presented the Civic Emergency Fund, a rapid-response mechanism providing flexible support to civil society organizations, activists, independent media, and non – formal initiatives facing threats as a result of their work.
Implemented by KCSF and Trag Foundation across seven Western Balkan countries, the Fund aims to help civil society respond to emergency situations and continue their work safely, even in times of crisis.
