The Riga Graduate School of Law in close cooperation with the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has started the implementation of a new training project “Advanced Programme in European Law and Economics”, funded by the government of Latvia, and designed with a special focus on the EU Eastern Partnership Region and Central Asia.
Who can apply?
The potential interested applicants – representing public officials, civil society and academia – from the following eligible countries: Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Armenia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan as well as Kosovo. The application deadline online is 1 July 2014. The study period will be from 15 September to 5 December 2014.
Programme description
The 12 week full-time training programme, hosted by the Riga Graduate School of Law, will have an interdisciplinary approach that is based on both teaching and practical knowledge transfer via institutional study visits in Riga, Brussels and Luxembourg, and focusing on the understanding of the legal, economic and political aspects within the European Union
framework.
Programme participants will also benefit from teaching contributions delivered by project partners that include the Latvian Institute of International Affairs, the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, the University of Latvia, and the European Institute for Public Administration.
The programme for a select group of 15 participants, admitted to the programme, is tuition free. In addition, the project funding will cover participants` travel to Riga and accommodation, as well as a modest per diem for living expenses in Riga. Travel and other costs will also be covered for study visits. Participants are expected to contribute in the form of active participation and full dedication to the programme during the 12 weeks.
