Call for applications: Training of Trainers for the Community Leadership Academy

To transform the representation and participation in our communities, the Kosovar Civil Society  Foundation (KCSF), within the Citizen Engagement Activity implemented in partnership with the USAID mission in Kosovo, has started a nationwide initiative, through which community activism is expanding. This initiative, called the Community Leadership Academy, aims to prepare approximately 200 young women and men aged 18-24 for effective organizing and advocacy for positive change in their communities.

For this purpose, KCSF in cooperation with Street Law will organize the Training of Trainers (ToT) of the Community Leadership Academy during two (2) days. This training aims to gather activists and individuals with experience in civil society and active citizenship, in order for them to understand the curriculum of the Academy, and to create a group of certified trainers for the sessions of this Academy which will be held in the Serbian language.

When is the training held?
During November 2024.

What will you learn in this training?
The training includes a two-day workshop aimed at enhancing the participants’ skills in delivering the Community Leadership Academy modules.

The training will familiarize participants with the purpose of the Academy, its curriculum and interactive training methodology. After the training, participants who complete the ToT will be engaged as trainers for two (2) editions of the Community Leadership Academy in the next four years.

At the end of the training, participants should be able to:
– Articulate the outcomes, goals and curriculum structure of the Community Leadership Academy;
– Describe the basic roles and responsibilities of Community Leadership Academy trainers;
– Effectively utilize the interactive teaching techniques of the Community Leadership Academy methodology, and best practices of leading sessions;
– Effectively plan individual modules and lead them successfully.

Who can apply and what are the application criteria?
People with experience and interest in civil society organization and community activism. Previous experience in moderating and lecturing during group discussions is preferred. We encourage inclusiveness in terms of gender, ethnicity, geographic representation from all regions of Kosovo.

Candidates for trainers must:
– Be available and committed to engage as trainers/facilitators in the upcoming editions of the Community Leadership Academy, which will be held in the Serbian language;
– Have experience and interest in civil society developments and community activism, youth participation, advancement of democracy, human rights, and rule of law;
– Have good knowledge of the social, political and cultural context of Kosovo;
– Have experience in organizing and holding training or informal education programs;
– Have good moderation, communication and presentation skills;
– Have a bachelor’s degree;
– Have not been engaged in any political party in the last four years.

Engagement of trainers in Academy modules is a paid engagement. Participants who are certified in ToT will become part of the group of trainers to engage in future editions of the Community Leadership Academy for the period 2025-2026.
