Kosovo Resource Centre for Civil Society will organize the next training on “Internal Governance of CSOs and Financial Management”.

The main objective of this training is to develop the key and necessary skills to ensure effective internal governance and sustainable financial management for representatives of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). The training will focus on the principles of good governance, organizational structures, and the use of documents, systems and procedures as a basis for effective governance. Moreover, best practices for management, budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, as well as compliance with legal and tax requirements will be addressed. Participants will have an opportunity to deepen their insights in effective resource management and improve the sustainability and credibility of their organizations in the eyes of donors and partners.

Dates: 18 and 19 September 2024, Prishtina

What will you learn in this training?

This training will, among other things, focus on addressing issues related to:

• Principles of good governance;
• Internal governance structures and their roles;
• The difference between the concept of governance and management;
• Relations between non-executive and executive bodies;
• Life cycle of an organization;
• Documents, systems and procedures of an organization as a basis for good governance;
• Foundations of financial management;
• Accounting methods for non-governmental organizations;
• The role of personnel in financial management;
• Budgeting for non-governmental organizations;
• Accounting and financial reporting for non-governmental organizations and applicable laws and taxes.

Who is this training suitable for?

This training is suitable for:

• Heads of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs):
• Members of the Board or Assemblies of CSOs:
• CSO financial officers:
• CSO Project Coordinators.

Who can apply and what are the application criteria?

Civil society organizations interested in learning about internal governance and financial management are eligible to apply.

Each CSO should nominate 1 member to participate in the training based on their responsibilities within the organization.

Application criteria:

• To be a Civil Society Organization (CSO), registered in Kosovo;
• The CSO activity should also include work at the local level;
• To be involved in community activity and/or interest in involving citizens in the organization’s work.
